RESTRUCTURING NPFL CLUBS Part 2 Establishment of a football academy An academy for studies and football should be established by Akwa Ibom Football Club with the aim of grooming youth players for the club, which could be for business (in terms of transfer) or further promotion into the club’s first team. The name of the academy could be called “Akwa Ibom Football Club Academy”, or for language preferences it could also be named “Ufuknwad Football”, meaning school of football. The club finances could be strengthen by the sale of players (mainly youths) who do not break into the first team.
